- a common term in a sports where a player has faked a fall on the ground in order to get the chance of penalty, known as 'diving' in football or 'flop' in basketball
- to dive into water from the springboard
- to worsen rapidly; usually refers to figures (e.g. stock price, business performance) in a free fall
